Despite long-standing appeals to strengthen governance in the Middle East and the urgent need for reform, recommendations have often been ignored, dismissed as impractical and inappropriate, or poorly implemented. In light of these developments, the speakers engaged with the ongoing reconsideration of the design and management of governance reforms throughout the global south. In total, 53 topics were addressed, including peace economics, partnership and policy making, policy, evaluation and reform, and ethnic conflict and natural resources, as well as theoretical and philosophical issues related to public policy. All the discussions sought to contribute to better policymaking or enlightening policy to foster an inclusive and prosperous society. The conference was chaired by Prof. Hamid Ali, and keynotes were delivered by Christos Kollias, Raul Caurso, Dr Ishtigue Jamil and Dr. Arash Rashidian.
